Activision released five screenshots of the upcoming Guitar Hero 5 and they will blow you away. Check this out: they've got people in a band playing in front of an audience.

They're nice-looking bands and all - I really like the one guy dressed like a barbarian - but Guitar Hero's visuals aren't really that important. You'll spend most of the game staring at long strings of notes anyway so screenshots don't really move the needle at all.

The screenshots do, however, highlight one feature of the game: multiple players can play the same instrument. One shot is of four players all rocking out on the drums. That's right - no more drawing short straws to figure out who sings.

GH 5 will be released on the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, and PS2 this fall.
