It looks like those rumors from this past weekend – all from a leaked marketing survey – are already being proven true. Word about a touch sensitive neck on the Guitar Hero: World Tour guitar peripheral happens to be true. We now know quite a bit about how the guitar will work, along with the other peripherals.

IGN has the first hands on preview of the new guitar, mic and drums. The first bit of great news is that Activision said the old Les Paul and X-plorer guitars will work with World Tour. The guitar does indeed have a touch pad, which has the different colors throughout just like the normal buttons. This allows you to pull off slides and vary the sound of the note even more than just with a whammy bar. The touch pad will also give players access to tapping, which is essentially the only way to pull off wicked fast riffs.
