Maybe you liked him in the short-lived TV series on Fox, Drive, or maybe you thought he rocked hard in the sci-fi space thriller, Serenity? Well, regardless of what you think of Nathan Fillion he will be one of the main characters in Halo 3: ODST and he’s featured in the new trailer called “Desperate Measures”.

Now I’ve never been much of a Halo fan, as I felt the first game lacked any sort of story depth or proper character development, especially with Master Chief. The second game had promise and the third game was moderately better than the first two. Either way, the universe of Halo has always lacked proper storytelling and development of character. It looks like that’s about to change with Halo 3: ODST as players are put in the shoes of a rookie Orbital Drop Shock Trooper and must team with Fillion’s character as he takes on the role that Sgt. Johnson usually fulfilled in the previous games.

The new trailer definitely opens up the possibilities for H3: ODST but it’s still tough to tell how good this game might be or how well it further develops the world of Halo. Either way, you can check out the new trailer below, which is actually pretty good thanks to the convincing voice-acting by Nathan Fillion, and you can look for the game to hit shelves this upcoming September, exclusively for the Xbox 360.
