Halo 4 Exile Screenshots Reveal Deadly Flag Carrier

For PAX Prime, 343 Industries revealed a new Halo 4 map called Exile. Through these images, we learned about some of the big changes being made to the Capture the Flag mode.

Traditionally, Halo flag carriers have been very hobbled. Holding the flag required both hands so the carrier couldn't use any weapons. However, these screenshots show that a pistol can be used while you're holding the flag.

The flag can still be used as a melee weapon in a pinch. However, 343 Industries isn't just re-using the old Gravity Hammer animation this time. If you get the drop on an enemy, you can perform an elaborate assassination move with the flag. Like most good things, it ends with impalement.

This is the first Halo shooter not developed by Bungie. This change to flag carrying is just one of many little touches we should expect from 343 as they try to put their own stamp on the series.
