Halo 4 Forward Unto Dawn Video Shows Off The Warthog

For the live-action series Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, WETA supplied a working, full-scale Warthog. A new behind-the-scenes video for Dawn lets us see this vehicle in action and learn how it was incorporated into the series.

Forward Unto Dawn centers around Cadet Thomas Lasky and his classmates at the UNSC academy. The academy comes under attack by Covenant forces and Master Chief arrives on the scene to help. The super-soldier and fledgling soldiers must team up to repel the invaders.

One scene in the series shows a Warthog being chased through the woods at night. Master Chief is manning the turret on the back while Lasky drives. Having a young teenager drive this custom vehicle through darkened woods isn't really a wise course of action, though, so the filmmakers had to rely on some trickery to make the scene work.

The first of Forward Unto Dawn's five episodes will debut on October 5th. 343 Industries will roll out the remaining episodes in the weeks before Halo 4's launch.
