Halo 4 More Anticipated Than Call Of Duty: Black Ops 2

A new study from the Nielson Game Rank Report suggests that the most anticipated game of the year for the Xbox 360 is not Call of Duty, Activision's annual FPS outing. Instead, the report suggests that the billion dollar juggernaut is edged out by Microsoft's own Halo 4, the sci-fi shooter from 343 Industries.
The report comes courtesy of Nielson's blog [via GI.biz] where the the stats show that both Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and Halo 4 are both at the 99% range for gamer/consumer anticipation but Master Chief and crew managed a 0.25 point lead on Black Ops 2 to top the chart as the most anticipated game of 2012 for the Xbox 360. Check it out below.
Nielson also listed games for the PS3 and Wii, but both of them are standard fare. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is at the top of the list for the PS3 followed by Assassin's Creed III and Resident Evil 6. For the Wii it's just fitness games and sports titles, with the exception of Epic Mickey 2: Power of Two.
I don't know if it could be considered as surprising or not but Assassin's Creed III is ranked fairly highly for both the Xbox 360 and PS3, but with all the media peppering and asset dropping Ubisoft has been doing for the game, in addition to the amazing setting and brand new game modes it's not too off in left field that Assassin's Creed III would nearly tie with Halo 4 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 when it comes to gamer anticipation.
You can check out the full charts for the PS3 and all the shovelware – oops, I mean software for the Wii over at the Nielson Blog.
