Tor, the publisher of novels based on Halo and Dragon Age, will be publishing a BioShock novel as well. The unnamed book will be released in Fall 2009.
Tor's product catalog (via Gamasutra) notes that the book is 400 pages long and will be released in both hardcover and paperback form. No other details on the book were provided - it could be a direct novelization of one of the games or an entirely original story.
The author is apparently listed as Ken Levine, the 2K Boston creative director who wrote the game. As Gamasutra points out, it's entirely possible he's just being credited here for developing the BioShock setting and characters. Still, it's not impossible that he'd write it - there's precedent for game writers branching into novels. Dragon Age: Origins lead writer David Gaider penned a prequel novel, The Stolen Throne, and Mass Effect lead writer Drew Karpyshyn wrote two novels based on that particular game.
