While the Spike Video Game Awards themselves are of questionable importance, there's usually some good trailers to watch during the ceremony. Today Spike revealed that the first footage for Halo: Reach will premiere at the 2009 ceremony.
"At E3, Bungie's Joe Staten announced that the game, a prequel to the Halo trilogy, is coming out in the Fall of 2010. He also screened a brief teaser trailer that showed nothing more than the planet Reach from space," said Geoff Keighley in an announcement on the Spike VGA website. "At the VGAs you'll finally get to see the world of Reach for the first time --- and I promise that you won't be disappointed." It doesn't necessarily mean the trailer will have gameplay footage (though it might). It could just be snippets from cutscenes. Still, whatever the video ends up containing, Keighley's suggesting that it'll be a much more significant reveal than the teaser from this summer. The 2009 Spike VGAs air on Saturday, December 12th. You can vote on the nominees until December 11th.
