Free Radical’s first-person shooter, the PS3 exclusive Haze, is set to come out in December. That means we’re not done with the FPS genre yet this year. Out of all the lesser-hyped games that involve the player being a super soldier and/or shooting aliens, this might be the best of the bunch. We’ve been keeping an eye on the game with great anticipation. I’m still not convinced Killzone will ever be the mega smash Sony hopes, and perhaps Haze will fall short as well.

Yes, there are way too many FPS games out right now. But then again, the PS3 is sorely lacking in this department. According to Gamasutra, Ubisoft is saying the US release will occur in December. So when you’re done saving the world in Call of Duty 4, or trying to figure out what the hell a wombax is, you’ll have some drugs to do and enemies to shoot.

And yes people, for the last time…Haze is a PS3 exclusive. There has been some confusion as the title began as a multi-console project. Perhaps next summer we’ll see a 360 port, but there’s no word on how true that could be. Haze’s PS3 sales numbers may have something to do with it.
