Midway Games has released the first trailer for its new game titled Hour of Victory. Guess what genre it is? Not up for it, eh? Well, guess when it takes place? 1940'ish era you say? We'll you're one-hundred-percent correct! It is indeed another freakin’ World War II First Person Shooter.

Just when you thought maybe it was time for a break from the monotony these games always come chock full of, Midway seems intent to cram another one down our throats. Personally, I find it rather annoying that so many talented studios are forced to waste years of their lives on first person shoot ‘em ups just so some pimple-faced 13 year old can get his jollies by tea-bagging his latest frag.

This could have been the studio that would create the next Okami or Dynasty Warriors. Wait, strike that nobody wants another DW. But I digress, among the features touted for HoV, the game shows off three distinct characters; a stealth assassin type character, a brute force wielding munitions expert, and a sniper. Seriously? Do these people sit around the concept table and literally say, “Hey let’s use all the gameplay features that have been mercilessly beaten to death time and again in Commandos!” But hell, lots of people like this stuff so without further ado I give you…Hour of Victory (lights dim, curtain pulls back and the film rolls.)
