On November 15^th of 2007, Sega announced that their House of the Dead series would make an appearance on the Wii, Today the company released a number of screenshots showcasing the title. With Konami's Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles currently estimated at 720,000 units sold, it shows arcade shooters still have a following.

House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return (actual title) combines both games onto a single disc, and then ushers them quietly into your home. According to Rick Naylor, Marketing Director for Sega of America, "The House of the Dead Franchise has been revitalized for today’s gamer looking for non-stop shooting action on the Wii...This will take gamers back to experience the celebrated first-person arcade shooter that was so popular in the late ‘90s.”

For those who weren't cool enough to hang out in the arcades, The House of the Dead brought suspenseful shooting to gamers long before Rob zombie brought a nightmarish (and not in the good way) version to the movies. The premise is pretty simple. Bloodthirsty zombies are running rampant throughout the city. You own a gun. What more needs to be said? Cap some zombies, blast some more zombies, and battle zombie bosses by filling their ass with lead. It's great to be a sole survivor.

BUT WAIT! Invite a friend over and participate in some multi-player campaign. You think killing zombies is fun? Well, busting twice as many melons is twice as much fun. When you get down to the boss battles, I guarantee you a partner will come in handy. Expect the game to arrive this spring.
