How To Run Crysis At 60 FPS On High Settings

The computer-melting first-person shooter Crysis can be run at sixty frames per second with the graphics settings turned all the way up. Yes, it's actually possible. It takes only one easy step: "Buy an $8,000 computer." See? Simple!

The folks over at Cnet just reviewed the "Falcon Northwest Mach V (Intel Core i7-965 Extreme Edition)" and it's the first rig capable of the impressive feat. It'll run you $8,028 (paint job in picture costs $500 extra) and has the following specs:
  • 3.79GHz Intel Core i7 965 Extreme Edition.
  • An Intel X58 chipset.
  • 12GB of 1,066MHz DDR3 SDRAM.
  • 2 x 1GB ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2
  • 1TB 7,200RPM Hitachi hard drive.
  • 80GB Intel X-25M solid-state drive
Pretty damned impressive. I'm wondering how long you'll be able to play Crysis until the computer achieves self-awareness and tries to initiate Judgment Day.
