In what may be the silliest petition I’ve seen in a long time is a new one on Petition Online.com to the developers of Diablo 3 demanding that they make the game much grittier and darker than early screenshots suggest it will look. You see, the fans are upset that it looks too much like World of Warcraft right now, and they’re up in arms that this new look may sully the reputation that Diablo 1 and 2 have earned over the years.

All I have to say to that is, relax, sir, relax. Blizzard may be changing the art direction a bit on a franchise you’ve come to know and love, but that doesn’t mean you should go and remodel the screenshots (I kid you not) to make them look how you think the game should look and then suggest that the art direction go towards that direction. That’s just plain lunacy!

As of right this instant, there are already 47868 (Well, 47869 now that I just signed it. Hey, I never said I wasn’t hypocritical) signatures trying to get Blizzard to make it look like it used to. Sign the petition and feel dirty about yourself for just signing something that you don’t really give two hoots about here
