Individual Orange Box Games Offered In Stores Soon
PC gamers who didn't purchase the Orange Box will have a chance to buy the new individual titles from the bundle - Portal, Half Life 2: Episode Two and Team Fortress 2 - in retail stores by the end of March. The idea of someone not owning Orange Box yet if they have a PC capable of running it (or an Xbox 360 or PS3) boggles my mind, but there's at least a few of you out there and here's a chance to repent.
The individual Orange Box titles can already be purchased and downloaded via Steam. However, if you don't want to sit through a download, you'll be able to buy a physical copy soon. They're expected to hit shelves before March 31st, the end of EA's fiscal year. Half-Life 2 and Episode One, the older titles also included with Orange Box, are already available in individual retail packages.
Team Fortress 2 and Episode Two are priced at $30 on Steam right now and Portal is priced at $20. I'm wondering if those prices will be reduced for the retail release - maybe to a uniform $20 apiece. Each of those games is definitely worth twenty or thirty bucks, but if you're interested in all three, the Orange Box is still a ridiculously good value.
