Invincible Tiger: The Legend Of Han Tao Coming To XBL And PSN

published: 2009-02-04 12:34:52
Namco Bandai recently announced that a new title for Xbox Live is on its way and it’s a hand-to-hand, foot-to-face brawler. UK based studio, Blitz Games is currently hard at work on this multiplatform title that will grace the likes of the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.

According to the press release, the story is about… “Han Tao, General of a Thousand Victories, has pledged his life to protect the legendary Star of Destiny, a mysterious artifact recently stolen by the Evil Overlord. Han Tao will face a cavalcade of enemies, ranging from standard grunts to undead horrors in his quest to recover the sacred Star. Luckily Han Tao is well versed in intense combos, slick counter-moves, the art of deadly weapons, and mystical Zen attacks.

The game sees players taking on enemies in over the top combat with both offline and online gameplay modes. Like most other games in the beat-e’m-up genre, by combining combos and visceral body blows to opponents, players can unlock and unleash a devastating attack by Tao.

The game has some nifty features, but I’m not sure if the game itself is anything noteworthy enough to stand above and beyond some more of the innovative games on the Xbox and PS3 distribution services. It almost reminds me of the original Mortal Kombat. It doesn't seem bad it just doesn't seem particularly great either. Only time will tell.

Invincible Tiger: The Legend of Han Tao Features:

• Team up with a partner and take on the Evil Overload’s diabolical army through Story Mode Co-op.

• Carefully battle through each stage with increased difficulty and a shared Zen Meter.

• Combat techniques learned through the single player game will serve players well as all-out brawls will leave stragglers in the dust.

• Endurance Mode has players battling an endless stream of enemies under a specific time limit.

• Post your scores online for bragging rights!
