When one of the biggest strategy game series of all time makes its way to a new platform, you expect some advertising or at least a press release. That's not the case with the DS remake of Jagged Alliance, though. The game's been quietly shipped to retailers throughout North America.
According to Gamestop.com, it shipped on May 19th. Additionally, the game is said to be in stock at several stores throughout the United States. I went out and bought a copy just to be sure the boxes weren't filled with miniature spring-loaded snakes (they're not). European gamers aren't so lucky, though. Atari is handling the game's distribution in North America but the European publisher is Empire Interactive, which announced earlier this month that it was shutting down. A spokesperson for Cypron Studios, who co-developed the game with Strategy First Inc., confirmed to Blend Games that the EU version is finished. It's just a matter of finding a new publisher now. |
