Jimi Hendrix Joins Guitar Hero: World Tour In November

published: 2008-10-28 10:55:07
This November will spell historic fun for Guitar Hero: World Tour players, as two rocking icons join the list of downloadable content for the game. Jimi Hendrix and The Raconteurs will be available via Wii Store, PSN and Xbox Live. Keep reading to find out how much this new content is going to cost.

First, November 13th gamers will get a chance to relive the LSD...I mean, glory days of rock, with three of Jimi Hendrix’s master tracks, which will include a live version of “Fire”, R&B classic “Little Wing”, and “If 6 was 9". These songs will come alongside The Raconteurs’ “Salute Your Solution,” “Hold Up” and “Consoler of the Lonely”. Together the download pack will be available on Xbox Live for 400 MS Points, or the straight-up price of $5.49 at the PlayStation Store. I’m not sure if I like my currency in points or cents...real dollar signs make me feel as if I’m actually spending money.

Anyway, The Raconteurs’ three songs will debut in a separate download pack on November 20th, without Jimi and his master tracks. As a standalone download pack, The Raconteurs’ songs will only cost your wallet 160 MS Points, which turns into $1.99 for the PlayStation Store. In this case, it looks like MS isn’t fooling anyone now, given their less-points-for-more cash point system. But I guess it works the same way with their operating systems: More cash for less productivity. Oh, not to fall off on a tangent, you might be interested to know that Nintendo’s Wi-Fi connection will also offer the standalone Raconteurs tracks for only 200 Wii Points.

Guitar Hero: World Tour is currently available for most major gaming platforms.
