The sequel to IO Interactive's co-op shooter Kane & Lynch is still alive. A recent trademark filing has revealed the probable title of the game, too.

Last week, Eidos applied for a trademark on Kane & Lynch: Dog Days as well as Kane & Lynch Dog Days (thanks, superannuation). The trademark is only for video games, which seems unusual considering the first game is being adapted to a film. I guess it would be premature to start thinking of a second film before the first one's even shooting, though.

Back in May, Eidos president Ian Livingstone revealed that IO is preparing a new Hitman game as well. Considering how little we've heard of Hitman 5 or the Kane & Lynch sequel at this point, it seems quite likely that they won't arrive by the end of 2009.
