Cooperative play is a popular feature to include in shooters nowadays. According to Guerrilla Games managing director Herman Hulst, Killzone 2 will not be following the crowd on that one.

"“We looked at all the different flavors of co-op early on, but decided our first priority would have to be the single-player experience and the multiplayer,” Hulst told Game Informer (thanks, Co-Optimus). "“Rather than just tack on co-op, it would have to be integrated and done to a similar standard as the single and multiplayer."

To drive the point home, he added:“Having looked at it again now, I do not think we would want to add it as DLC.”

But hey, he's just the guy in charge of the company that developed the game. What the hell does he know? Though Killzone 2's getting a co-op patch, they will be getting at least two multiplayer map packs in the future.
