Namco Bandai's pseudo buddy-up, hack-and-slash action game, Knights Contract, has finally gone gold for the Xbox 360 and PS3 and the release date is now set in stone. The game is like a gorier version of Ninja Theory’s Enslaved: Odyssey to the West…I’m sure Namco is just hoping that the game sells better than the Journey to the West spinoff.

As stated in the press release…
In Knights Contract, take a journey through a world of swordsmen and magic where witches have been hunted and brutally exterminated. The game follows the twisted tale of Heinrich, an immortal executioner, and Gretchen, a resurrected witch. Once the victim of Heinrich’s blade, Gretchen now has him under contract to fight alongside her and the two must work together to rid the land of the malicious enemies who have cursed its people.

Just like Majin and Enslaved, the game is s single-player adventure title with an NPC controlled partner and the objective is to keep the female companion alive while hacking, slashing, chopping and dicing your way through hordes of the undead. Maybe third time is the charm, eh?

Knights Contract is set for release on February 22nd of this year for the Xbox 360 and PS3. You can learn more about the game by visiting the Official Website.
