Konami At E3: Lost In Blue: Shipwreck Details And ScreensAuthor: Steve West

I’m confused as to how the Lost in Blue games are fun. I’ll grant that they might be interesting, but so is the Joker in the new Dark Knight movie…and I’m not inviting him to any dinner parties. Essentially your get stranded and have to survive. “Rub two sticks together for fire, yo.” That doesn’t sound like innovative game design to me. So there must be something I’m missing, because Konami keeps making more of these things.
Lost in Blue: Shipwrecked shows up on the Wii with full 3D graphics, and I expect lots of waggle waving of the wand. Players must explore the island and all its treasures so that you can either make it off the island or survive forever. Or until you die. Because if you could live forever by being stranded on an island I never would have left the Caribbean. This is the first title in the series on a home console, and I wonder if people will want to sit on the couch playing with their fake dog and trying to survive. It’s not the most exciting prospect. At least on the DS it’s a distraction from the world around you. We’ll get to find out this fall when Lost in Blue: Shipwrecked launches for the Nintendo Wii |
