Hey everybody, Kristin Bell is in Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed. Like me, you’re not surprised since it was Bell who kicked off the conjecture about the game’s sci-fi aspect nearly a year ago when she inadvertently spilled the beans. But now Ubisoft is ready to officially announce her involvement, along with an uncanny valley image of Bell in game form. Best known for playing the title role on The CW’s Veronica Mars, which was tossed aside like a used hooker by the network, this will be Bell’s foray into the game industry.
I’ve been staying as far away from spoilers as possible on this one, so whatever her role is in the sci-fi portion of the game is still a mystery to me. Although, I have a feeling that it will be much less a “wow” moment than Ubisoft has been building up. Having said this, I fully expect the game to be the fabled fourth season of Veronica Mars that Rob Thomas dreamed up. Only, instead of jumping 4 years into the future at the FBI, we’ve gone 15 years into the future where Veronica is working at a top-secret lab. A lab that likes to send people back through time to alter past events. It’s up to our perky private eye to solve the case of an assassin known as Altaire. While the WGA is on strike I’m free to write any hack scripts developers and studios need.
According to Jade Raymond, Assassin’s Creed producer, the role Bell plays in the game is a key one. Whatever that role is, we’ll be finding out next week. Assassin’s Creed is currently scheduled to release on November 13th for the PS3 and Xbox 360
