House of the Dead is a simple concept to get behind. The undead are running rampant through town, you are the proud owner of a gun, and lots of shooting results from the meeting of the two. SEGA announced late last year that House of the Dead 2 & 3 would be hitting the Wii. It sounded like a decent idea, and people sure did enjoy Umbrella Chronicles. Even if it wasn’t all that good.
Today SEGA has sent out a large collection of new screenshots for House of the Dead. Personally I’d rather they’d not done so. The game appears to be in a sorry state with what I’m seeing in these shots. Polygons are plentiful and apparent, dead eyes (and not in the good zombie way) and horrid textures overtake every shot. The last thing you need to worry about is the zombies when you have to endure such an ugly world. It barely looks like a mediocre GameCube game, let alone an upcoming Wii title.
If SEGA is going for the nostalgia effect, then maybe they’ve done their job. I certainly feel like I’m back in college at the on campus arcade running through some House of the Dead with a friend when I look at these screenshots.

Oh Come on! 'Lackluster'? The fact is this is a port of two very old arcade games. A FAITHFUL port of two games with bonus content for THIRTY BUCKS. It is a great value, the games are badass and cost more when released for last-gen consoles seperately. So like stop your whining! This ia a great opportunity for Wii owning Shooter fans, particularly zapper owners! HA HA You don't even KNOW anything about this game.
You think its new! You think its full priced! You don't know how this series has myriad fans! You don't know... much! Thank god you are getting paid for this crap!
