Dark Horse is planning to release a Limited Edition of Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia, the upcoming all-in-one guide to the classic Nintendo series. As you might imagine, the Limited Edition will be rarer and more expensive than the normal version.

Hyrule Historia is a 274-page, hardcover tome with everything you want to know about the Zelda universe. It includes an official timeline for the games, never-before-seen concept art, and insight into the development. An exclusive manga from Akira Himekawa is also included. Zelda creator Shigeru Miyamoto supplied the introduction.

The Limited Edition (via NWR) costs $69.99, or twice the price of the Standard Edition. You're not getting much for your extra money. The LE's cover, below) is faux-leather and features a Gate of Time logo on the front. Furthermore, the pages are gilded.

If sexy books are your thing, then you may want to pre-order Historia soon. Dark Horse says that they'll only be releasing 4,000 copies of the CE. Considering how popular Zelda is, that sounds like a small number of copies. Maybe I'm overestimating the market for faux-leather books, though.

Hyrule Historia will arrive in the West on January 30th. The book debuted in Japan last year.
