Street Fighter: The Legend Of Chun-Li has managed to live up to its very low expectations among gamers and non-gamers alike. In its first weekend, the film barely managed to squeak into the top ten, and that's against some pretty terrible competition.

Chun-Li attained the #8 spot with a haul of $4.65 million. Tyler Perry's Madea Goes to Jail and Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience, not exactly stunning achievements in film themselves, managed to grab $16.5 million and $12.7 million respectively. Shit, even Paul Blart: Mall Cop made more money than Chun-Li and it's been out for about two months. You can check out the rest of the top ten here. To put things further in perspective, Chun-Li had a budget of around $60 million so the people who made the film can't even console themselves with filthy profits.

It's no darling of the critics, either. It's currently sporting a 21 Metacritic score and the consensus seems to be that the 1994 Street Fighter film with Jean-Claude Van Damme was better. For an in-depth explanation of why it was so bad, check out Cinema Blend's review.
