Leipzig GC 07: Updated Track List For Rock Band Every time we see Rock Band, the spiritual successor to Harmonix’ Guitar Hero franchise, we are left more and more impressed. Today Harmonix announced that the game will also be making an appearance on the PS2, featuring all the same modes from the 360 and PS3 versions. In addition to that news ten new songs have been revealed, bringing the total track listing to twenty-six.

But the potential for songs is unlimited. Harmonix, partnering with MTV, has announced previously that there would be extensive downloadable content, including full albums. What kind of price tag this will carry is yet to be seen, but you can be sure there will be long hours of rocking (and making complete fools of ourselves) in 2008. Using the Xbox Live service Rock Band will be able to provide players with region specific content, as well as bringing popular songs to the entire world.

The ten new songs, which are master tracks to boot, are as follows: Rolling Stones “Gimme Shelter,” Deep Purple “Highway Star,” The Clash “Should I Stay or Should I go,” Faith No More “Epic,” Smashing Pumpkins “Cherub Rock,” Radiohead “Creep,” Beastie Boys “Sabotage,” Jet “Are You Gonna Be My Girl,” OK Go “Here It Goes Again,” and Nine Inch Nails “The Hand That Feeds.”

That’s a pretty impressive lineup of new songs. While I appreciate GHIII taking an international turn with its latest song list, this is a group I can get behind. The full official Rock Band song list to date is below.
