Fans of Peter Jackson’s interpretation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s series of novels about a little hobbit who has to pitch a ring into a lava pit before a giant eye gets revenge on the world will probably get a little bit more excited about the latest game coming out for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. Warner Bros Interactive released a new trailer for The Lord of the Ring: War in the North, and it breaks down the game’s story mode and purpose.

Just because it’s a story trailer doesn’t mean it’s not full of action, though. There is plenty of hacking, slashing, clubbing, spiking and even some arrow impalement. Yep, you can do it all in War In The North. It’s a little funny because players are in control of some no-name people going after some lesser-evil dude as Frodo and crew take on the real challenge in Mordor. Nevertheless, it’s still a Lord of the Rings game and I’m sure it’ll sell regardless.
