Lost Planet 3 Release Date Set For June, New Trailer Released

The official release date has been set for Lost Planet 3, with Capcom setting a June 25th launch window in their sights. The game is also scheduled to launch in Europe on June 28th. The game will drop day and date for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, so you don't have to worry about the PC version being treated like the physically abused red-headed step-child where it's always forced to show up late because the step-dad is all drunk and violent and stuff.

The new trailer is primarily focused on Jim and the corporate secrets of the company he's working for. The trailer gives off a James Cameron's Avatar vibe, with Jim befriending the hostile locals and deciding to maybe fight back against the corporate oppressors? The promo trailer definitely teases possibilities but I sure hope it's not as cut-and-dry as that. Check it out below.

I'm really curious how this game will be received because Lost Planet 2 – despite having a compelling story – was like the perfect co-op shooter. You hopped into the game with a couple of friends, leveled-up your character, piloted some awesome mechs, used some amazing weapons and battled timeless creatures. I loved the second game a lot.

With a story-based co-op nowhere in sight, only one mech to pilot, fewer weapons at your disposal and customization removed from the buffet, I'm very curious how Capcom will manage the replayability factors for Lost Planet 3. I sure hope they don't lace it with DLC from here to the moon.

You can look for Lost Planet 3 to launch for home consoles and PC this June. Need more info? Feel free to visit the Official Website.
