M17x Laptop Contest Featuring Left 4 Dead And Counter-StrikeAuthor: William Usher

Alienware is at it again and this time they’re giving away their new high-end M17x Laptop in a contest that requires nothing more than to shoot things in Counter-Strike: Source and Valve’s popular FPS, Left 4 Dead.
According to the press release, “The first of two stages of the competition, “Frag ‘till you drop”, takes place in the Outer Perimeter of Area-51 – and qualifying through this stage will require both a steadfast aim and an unyielding endurance. Each contestant will have to play on official Area-51 ranked Counter-Strike: Source deathmatch servers, and the top 51 will proceed into the next stage of the tournament.” In addition to the Counter-Strike: Source deathmatch contest, gamers will have to endure the pulse-pounding, edge-of-your-seat action of Left 4 Dead. The game will rank players based on achievements and kills, with the best players getting an opportunity at the Alienware laptop. There is also a new mini-site for the Enter Area 51 competition for those of you not good enough to actually partake in the contest. Don’t feel bad, though, I’ll probably end up viewing the stats and tracking info from the mini-site, too. It’s not because of a lack of skill in L4D or Counter-Strike, I’m just resting my trigger finger. Anyway, you can check out the mini-site and learn more about the competition at the Official Enter Area 51 Website. For more gaming news, info and updates, be sure to stay tuned in with Blend Games. |
