Setting internal records at Midway for the most pre-ordered Mortal Kombat game of all time and having the most online matches played for any Mortal Kombat game (i.e., 3.6 million according to GameSpy Network), is just part of the achievements Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe has acquired. Guess what else the game managed to achieve?
No, it did not break any NPD records, it did not top any Xbox Live charts and it did not outsell any of the 2008 favorites such as Gears of War or Mirror’s Edge. Instead, Midway is proud to be associated with a game that has had 1.8 million units shipped. Yes, they shipped 1.8 million units worldwide for the Xbox 360 and PS3.Very nice (just so you know, that’s sarcasm.) "Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe was the result of countless hours of hard work by many people, and seeing the game surpass the million-seller plateau makes it worth all the effort," said Ed Boon, Mortal Kombat co-founder and creative director, Midway.
