MMO Of The Year 2013 Voting Begins Next Week
I don't know if you've heard, but massively multiplayer online games are kind of a big deal. And while the for-pay market is struggling to survive, new free-to-play offerings are being introduced weekly, creating a landscape of thousands of games ranging numerous genres, perfect for whatever your gaming taste may be. A lot of MMOs stood out in 2013, and now the Eighth Annual MMO of the Year awards are gearing up to honor the cream of the crop.
With more than 20 categories honoring MMOs across browser, download and mobile titles, the MMO of the Year 2013 competition, with a main sponsor of GameGenetics, has finally posted a list of nominees. This year's categories are broken down by catch-all awards, such as best indie or best innovation, as well as platform/genre, such as best action browser MMO.
A full list of nominees can be found on the MMO of the Year official website, along with more details about the awards and their many sponsors. One juror award will be given per category, as well as one audience award per category, voted on by the folks who play the games.
“The nominees represent the best in massively multiplayer games,” said award producer Christian Justus. “Being organized for the eighth time this year, MMO of the Year is expected to attract millions of visitors from all over the world and tens of thousands of participants in the people's choice voting.”
You've still got a couple of days to decide which games you would like to vote for, as the polls don't open until Jan. 15. The whole shebang draws to a close one month later on Feb. 15, which is when the winners will be announced. You have until the polls open on Jan. 15 to suggest late nominations, which can be carried out from the MMO of the Year site linked above.
