Mafia II For PC To Feature NVidia's Stereoscopic 3D And PhysX Clothing
2K Games, 2K Czech and NVidia has announced that Mafia II for PC will be the first game to make use of the PhysX integrated clothing module. What does this mean for gamers? Well, if you’re talented enough to get create some wind next to a skirt you might be able to see what’s underneath.
According to the press release…
The integration of PhysX and NVIDIA APEX technology, including the APEX Clothing and Particle modules, enable the city and personalities of Empire Bay to truly come alive on Windows PC. The NVIDIA APEX Clothing module allows for more dynamic movement in clothing, making in-game characters even more realistic and reactive to environmental conditions. Not only will the game feature physics-based everything, but it will also support NVidia 3D Vision stereoscopic tech for people who have evolved past HD and into the 3D era. It would seem only fitting if you had a screen big enough for the 3D support, though, otherwise you’ll have to smash your head up close to the monitor trying to pick out the stereoscopic details.
Drew Henry, general manager of GeForce business at NVIDIA commented in the press release, saying…
“We are extremely excited about the upcoming launch of Mafia II for Windows PC,” … “With support for GPU-accelerated PhysX and 3D Vision, gamers will be able to experience the mob world in a whole other dimension. Gamers are in for a real treat.”You can look for Mafia II to land on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 August 24th in North America and August 27th the world around.
