Magrunner New Gameplay Footage And Developer Thank You
3AM Games sent out a quick thank you to fans and gamers who have helped crowd-source Magrunner to the 80% goal, even with 25 days still remaining. It's pretty much guaranteed that they'll hit their goal sometime soon and because of that the team released some new gameplay footage for the physics-based puzzle-shooter.
We reported on Magrunner back when it was announced and it was a game that definitely seemed like it deserved its crowd-source funding due to stepping outside of the box and aiming to provide gamers with a more unique twist to the typical first-person genre.
You can check out 3AM's thank you to fans below along with brand new footage of Magunner: Dark Pulse, to give gamers a small taste of what's in store.
The game seems to be coming along nice. Well before they started crowd-funding, Magrunner already had a $1 million dollar design budget and so with the extra money from fans the game will receive additional features such as an extended campaign or multiplayer support. Unlike other production cycles that try to throw in everything and the kitchen sink with a ridiculous production budget and DLC from here to the moon, 3AM wanted to do something different so as not to offend gamers with day-one DLC or a shoddy campaign and a tacked-on, incomplete multiplayer.
To be honest, I actually like this Games Planet Lab method that they're using for Magrunner more than the typical design budget as well as Kickstarter. The biggest problem with the typical design budget is what's outlined in the paragraph above about over-extending the team and the problem with a lot of Kickstarters is that you have no idea what the project is like until after you fully fund it.
