NanaOn-Sha, the developer behind the genius backwards hat wearing dog PaRappa the Rapper, has announced that they’ll be releasing a new marching band game. The alliterative Major Minor’s Majestic March will be published by Majesco, and features intense marching band sim gameplay with stylish cartoon animals. The new Wii exclusive title sees Masaya Matsuura and Rodney Alan Greenblat teaming up once again to unleash quirky musical stylings on the gaming public.
Major Minor’s Majestic March has players using the Wii Remote as a baton – think conductor more than hot pants wearing girl at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade – to keep temp of the marching band. You’ll also be able to recruit new band members and pick up special items in one of eight locations. Your goal is to create the most impressive parade ever devised, and you’ll have access to more than 25 classic marching band songs. Which means lots of Sousa I’d imagine.
Maybe I’ve lost my mind playing the latest game in my Wii, but I can’t wait to get my hands on this thing. The stylings of Matsuura and Greenblat seem well suited to the controls of the Wii. For now you can look below at all the images of whimsical animals holding instruments.
