Another one of Mass Effect 2's player classes was spotlighted this weekend by BioWare. In a new trailer they're showing off the Engineer's new powers.
The Engineer is able to use a variety of technical abilities in combat to tip the scales. For example, he can summon a spherical, flying drone that attacks enemies. It can be upgraded with new attacks and a self-destruct ability as well. Best part is, you just summon a new one if it dies. "I think Engineers will really appeal to players who like thinking their way through combat," ME2 lead combat designer Christina Norman told IGN. "More than any other class, the Engineer has the ability to shape the flow of battle by summoning, hacking, and debuffing enemies. For a master engineer, shooting an enemies is seen as an overly simplistic brute force approach to battle. " There are six player classes in total. Three of them are "pure" classes (Soldier, Engineer, Adept) while the other three are hybrids of those classes. The Adept, a master of biotics, was previewed in a trailer released last week. |
