New screenshots from BioWare’s Mass Effect 2 have shown up and they feature some robots shooting rockets, some psionic powers on display and a classic two-on-one shootout.

One of the shots – a detailed close-up of Shepard – looks frighteningly good. I doubt the Xbox 360 version will look like that but it’s good to know PC owners with enough horsepower under the hood will be able to run the game with such striking quality.

Mass Effect 2 is shaping up to be one of the biggest RPGs ever designed (spanning multiple DVDs) and is scheduled for release on PC and Xbox 360 on January 26th, 2010. For more info on the game be sure to visit the Official Website.
