Mass Effect 3 Firefight DLC Goes Live

Mass Effect 3 players now have several new ways to kill Reapers. BioWare has released the Firefight Pack, which introduces seven weapons into the RPG's single-player campaign.

Two of Firefight's weapons are completely new. The Adas Anti-Synthetic Assault Rifle is an electricity-based weapon perfect for penetrating shields or killing robots, Geth, and Reapers. The Blood Pack Punisher SMG, meanwhile, is a standard submachine gun with a twist: a secondary barrel fires an armor-piercing round whenever the user fires off a burst from the main barrel.

The other five guns in the DLC - Indra Sniper Rifle, Krysae Sniper Rifle, Reegar Carbine, Harrier Assault Rifle, Geth SMG - should be familiar to you. They first appeared in the game's multiplayer. This is the first time you'll be able to take them over to the single-player side.

As you'd expect from a DLC pack composed solely of weapons, Firefight is pretty cheap. You'll only need to pay $2 to download it. Even that might be too high of a price for most ME3 players, as most people have probably finished the campaign by now. Maybe the demand will increase once BioWare releases the single-player add-on Leviathan, though.
