Mass Effect 3 Operation Raptor Announced, PS3 May Get Multiplayer Events Soon

For the third week in a row, BioWare will be hosting a special event for Mass Effect 3's multiplayer on the Xbox 360 and PC. "Operation Raptor" provides players with incentive to promote their multiplayer characters.

In Mass Effect 3's co-op, players undertake a series of missions with custom characters. Once they hit the max level of 20 with a character, they can import them into their campaign. This boosts their War Assets in the campaign and thereby helps improve the game's ending.

In "Operation Raptor," the community is challenged to promote 150,000 characters in a single weekend. If the operation is successful, everyone will receive a special item bundled called a Victory Pack. Every player who promotes two characters will get an additional Commendation Pack as well. BioWare is implementing a 10% XP boost for the duration of the event to make these goals easier to achieve.

"This operation includes PC and Xbox 360; we are continuing to work with Sony to enable these types of Operations on the PlayStation 3 platform," says BioWare. "We appreciate your patience, and we expect an update later this week regarding Operation Raptor and the PlayStation 3."

Operation Raptor will start at 5PM PST on Friday and run until 5 AM PST on Monday. Note that you'll need to enable "Upload Gameplay Feedback" in the game's online options in order to participate in the event.
