Mass Effect 3 Wii U Screenshots Show Shepard In Action

Four brand new screenshots have surfaced for Mass Effect 3 for the Wii U, featuring Commander Shepard doing what a galactic Shepard does best: kick butt, take names and then potentially ask a series of multiple-choice questions later.

Just earlier today BioWare and EA let loose some screenshots for the upcoming premium DLC for Mass Effect 3, showing off the new single-player content and multiplayer items.

The four new screenshots for the Wii U rendition of Mass Effect 3, courtesy of Nintendo Everything, aren't much of anything special but one thing I thought was interesting is that comparing the Xbox 360 version to the Wii U version, as exampled in the main image, you can actually see a slight difference in the graphic fidelity of both games. It looks like the lighting might be slightly better in the Wii U version (on the left) but the textures in the image come across as muddled by comparison. Even if the larger image, which you can view below, the textures are still slightly blurry compared to its console counterparts. It doesn't mean much other than that it's interesting.

For now, a lot of the talk about the Wii U's capabilities and power are undermined with marketing double-speak and ambiguity so it's hard to tell exactly how powerful the Wii U actually is. These screenshots certainly don't help much, but for the most part it's at least guaranteed that the system will at least output some games on par to what you'll see on the Xbox 360 and PS3. How long this will keep Nintendo in the running is anyone's guess (save for Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter who doesn't always know what he's talking about.)
