On the cusp of Comic Con, BioWare and Dark Horse have revealed that they're collaborating on a Mass Effect comic series. The four-part Mass Effect: Redemption series will begin next year.

Redemption, penned by BioWare writer Mac Walters, sets up the storyline to Mass Effect 2. Commander Shepard gets stranded in the not-so-friendly Terminus Systems and must make it back home in one piece. Dr. Liara T'Soni (aka Alien McSideboob) from the original game also makes an appearance.

The first issue of the series will arrive in stores on January 6th, 2010. Mass Effect 2 is on track for an early 2010 release for the PC and Xbox 360.
