Activision is re-releasing Wolfenstein 3D through Xbox Live and PSN to promote the next-gen Wolfenstein game and it looks like Rockstar will be using a similar tactic to promote the newly-announced Max Payne 3.
The ESRB has rated Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne for the Xbox 360. This suggests that the two games will end up in the Xbox Originals library, a selection of games from the original Xbox that can be downloaded digitally to an Xbox 360 hard drive. Rockstar hasn't officially revealed any plans to re-release these games but the ESRB has spoiled many a surprise announcement in the past.
The price and release date for these two games is unknown. Still, most/all of the Xbox Original games are 1200 Microsoft Points ($15) so expect to shell out that much for each Payne. Furthermore, Max Payne 3 will be released this winter so in order to make the re-releases an effective promotion, they'll probably hit the Xbox Originals library sometime between now and then.
