Medal of Honor: Warfighter is back with a brand new single player trailer, showing off everything you could possibly want to see in a MoH including terrorists, hostage situations, guns and, of course, some gnarly beards.
What starts off with a scene of tense terrorist chatter quickly evolves into a rain-soaked firefight as the player is thrust into the boots of a soldier trying to aid in the rescue of civilians. It all comes to a climax with a helicopter rescue scene that sees the player manning a 50-cal in order to mow down the bad guys. The clip is a whopping eight minutes in length, so be sure you have some popcorn and a frosty cola before hitting that play button. Perhaps I'm a bit jaded after playing a dozen military first-person shooters over the last handful of years, but despite the quantity of what's shown off here, nothing we've seen so far has me interested in what Warfighter has to offer. There's lots of firing from cover and environments tearing apart. The character moves from a firefight to a slow story scene where everyone is talking about how the mission has gone wrong and, as if following the FPS handbook, a final firefight ends with an on-rails mega-gun blast-o-rama. It's something we've seen in just about every FPS since Modern Warfare catapulted the genre into the limelight and, at this point, it's going to take something more to get me interested. But I'm not writing Warfighter off just yet. There's still plenty of time for leading up to the Oct. 23 release for the developers at Danger Close to pull me in. Here's hoping they have at least a few new tricks up their sleeve. Back to top
