Capcom just announced that the release dates for Mega Man 9, the new "classic" Mega Man game. That's right, release dates - plural. As it turns out, the Wii, PS3, and 360 will be getting the game at different dates. Great news, that - a news story just doesn't feel right unless it incites trash-talking between fanboy factions.

Wii users can download MM9 starting September 22nd. The game will hit PSN and Xbox Live Arcade on September 25th and October 1st respectively. So Wii wins the arbitrary competition - at least until people start comparing screenshots. I wonder which system renders the sharpest 8-bit sprites?

The price for the game is expected to be $10. Additional downloadable content, such as new playable characters and weapons, is planned for all versions and the first batch should be available in early October. It's unclear if the DLC will hit all consoles at the same time.
