A new trailer has been released for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Konami and Platinum Games haven't had to do much in regards to promoting the game other than showing off gameplay. Why? Because MGR: Revengeance is straight up badass, and you get to see just how awesome the gameplay is in the latest trailer, showcasing some of Raiden's amazing technique and skills.

Hands down, I still think one of the greatest sequences in all of gaming is that showdown (both showdowns actually) between Raiden and Vamp in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. By all accounts, Hideo Kojima did a superb job directing that game, and that scene alone opened up so much potential for Raiden.

Thankfully, Platinum Games knew exactly where to go from there with the character and actually allows players to execute some of those breathtaking and cinematically engaging moves that Raiden used on the Gekko. Check it out below, courtesy of Shockya.

Raiden in a box was hilarious. Why on Earth would anyone even bother? I guess it's just there for nostalgia purposes. The stealth elements are interesting because in a game like this I'd imagine most gamers would avoid stealthing it and just go all in.

One thing worth noting, however, and it's that this game looks extremely hard. Notice how there are no QTEs for counter-attacks and enemy interaction. In other words, when they throw grenades, shoot rockets or go to hack and slash away at you, you'll actually need real finger-work to get out of tough situations. You can't rely on cheap QTEs like in Resident Evil 6 and God of War to get you out of a bind. Real skill, my friend.

You can look for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance to launch for the Xbox 360 and PS3 in early 2013.
