Microsoft Investigates Gears Of War 3 Leak; Spoiler Videos Appear On YoutubeAuthor: William Usher

If you don’t mind highly anticipated third-person shooters leaked onto the web with a side-order of story spoilers then you can go ahead and see how it all ends in Gears of War 3 thanks to a leaker who torrented an unfinished build of the full game and posted videos all over YouTube. Microsoft wasn’t happy with the leaks and seem to be even more perturbed at the video leaks of the Gears 3 campaign appearing on the net, hence they’ve decided to investigate.
According to IGN, the PR from Microsoft had some damage-control comments to share with gamers out there in the interactive-entertainment-sphere, saying… "We have seen the reports of Gears of War 3 content being propped on the Web and working closely with our security teams and law enforcement to address the situation,"… "This content is not from a final build and is not representative of what fans will enjoy when the game launches."And by that, they mean that “this build has plenty of glitches and bugs and if we released it now you would throw the disc at the wall and ask for your money back”. Of course, you can’t get your money back from a broken disc shattered against the wall, so the next best thing is simply to stick with Epic’s September release plan and get the game then. Now if you don’t want to have the story spoiled, I suggest you avoid Gears of War 3 YouTube trailers for the next two months. I know it’s asking a lot, but for the sake of being surprised…just do it. Plus, you’re more likely to spend $60 on the game if you don’t know what’s going to happen and we all know Microsoft likes when you spend $60 on one of their games. The investigation over the Gears of War 3 leak is still ongoing and we’ll update you on the results…assuming there are results. Anyway, you can pre-order Gears 3 from the Official Website and pick the game up exclusively for the Xbox 360 this September. |
