Microsoft No Longer Servicing Xbox ConsolesAuthor: William Usher

If the sudden abandonment of software for the original Xbox game console wasn’t proof enough that Microsoft is only concerned with the newer and the better, maybe this latest news will convince the naysayer: Microsoft will no longer service broken Xbox consoles.
According to an article on Electronic Theatre, it appears any broken Xbox that doesn’t have the numerical succession of ‘360’ following the name will stay broken. Unless, of course, the warranty on the Xbox isn't expired. Honestly, though, whose warranty on their original Xbox isn’t expired? I’d like to know. At this stage in the game, though, I don’t even think anyone cares. But for those of you who do, just know that Microsoft only has your money and RRoD in mind. The plus side is that Microsoft will continue to offer support via the internet for any Xbox related issues. Gamers can consider this the official nail in the coffin for the first Xbox…assuming the secession of original Xbox games back in 2006 from Microsoft wasn’t proof enough.
