Hype Midway Encourages Debauchery In This Is Vegas on N4G
Midway Encourages Debauchery In This Is Vegas Midway Games today announced their newest IP, This is Vegas, and they’d like to invite you to sin. The game is an open-world experience that is nothing like Grand Theft Auto. Rather than living the thug life or running down hookers, This Is Vegas tasks players with enjoying the town as a true party aficionado. It sounds interesting, and if Surreal can pull it off we may have a new distraction. The problem is I don’t care about elite parties in real life; I’m not sure why I’ll care in a game.

"We are thrilled to be unveiling the first-ever videogame experience which allows players to live out their wildest Vegas fantasies," said Alan Patmore, studio head, Surreal in a press release. "Whether it's partying in the hottest night clubs, racing in underground circuits, testing your luck at the tables or getting into a barroom brawl, This is Vegas has it all."

This is Vegas pits players against a businessman who is turning Vegas into a “family-friendly tourist trap.” Think Times Square today, rather than the Times Square with masturbation booths of the past. You’ll have to party at the clubs to get people to dance, and hopefully have the sexy time. Racing and fighting do come into play so that you can raise your rep. It may not have the thug gameplay of GTA, but This is Vegas includes all the debauchery you can handle. We’ll keep our eye on the game, which is expected to release late in 2008 for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
