Parkour action game Mirror's Edge is returning in a new format. EA revealed today that it will appear on the iPhone and iPod Touch next year.

The iPhone Mirror's Edge eschews the first-person camera of the original PS3/Xbox 360/PC game in favor of a third-person perspective. Players once again step into the shoes of Faith, an illegal courier in a dystopian society. To evade the police state's security, she mainly travels along rooftops. If need be, though, she can handle herself pretty in a fight.

When Mirror's Edge debuted last holiday season, it didn't meet EA's sales expectations. They trust the quality of the IP, though, so they've been trying to find a way to turn it into a big seller. In the past, they supposedly considered bringing ME to the PSP, DS, and Wii.
