On Friday the PS3 version of Modern Warfare 2 received a patch to fix some of the nastier multiplayer issues. If everything goes according to plan, a similar update will hit Xbox Live this week, too.

"Latest ETA from production was MS hoped to release early 'this week'. Hope b4 xmas," tweeted Infinity Ward community manager Ryan Bowling earlier today.

A patch is also in the works for the PC version. There's been no mention of when that will be released.

Update: In a follow-up Tweet, Bowling states that the patch will go live at 2 AM on Wednesday.
