The Mushroom Men are now marching into retailers and being made readily available for the Nintendo Wii and DS. The two games Rise of the Fungi for Nintendo DS, and The Spore Wars for Wii, are two distinct tales taking place in the same universe. For gamers looking to get in on the fungy action, you can do so by picking the game up at your local retailer.

“Wrapping up Mushroom Men has been one of the most satisfying endeavors this studio has ever seen,” says Dan Borth, CEO of Red Fly Studio, the designers of the game. “From the very inception of this original IP, we’ve been working around the clock to make it one of the most spectacular third-party platformers for Wii, and we really think we’ve nailed it.”

Mushroom Men: Rise of the Fungi offers up three "Shroom" classes for players to choose from, who vary in strength and weaknesses. The two-and-a-half dimensional game gives players plenty of action and adventure with makeshift weapons while exploring the Mushroom societies. Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars is a more straight-forward, punch-you-in-the-face kind of game that sports vast 3D environments, Wii-mote controlled combat and plenty of platforming action.
